Eid al-Adha is just around the corner, and the areas in and around New York City are brimming with opportunities to celebrate this meaningful holiday. From early morning prayers to family picnics, cultural showcases, and spirited evening festivities, there are many ways individuals, friends and families can connect, exchange good wishes, and honor the spirit of Eid, which this year falls on June 6th-9th.

New York City offers a rich array of opportunities to come together for Eid al-Adha prayers and celebrations. Here are some notable venues hosting Eid prayers on Friday morning:

Islamic Cultural Center of New York (ICCNY)

The Islamic Cultural Center of New York is offering a series of Eid al-Adha prayers at both of its Manhattan locations. The 96th Street mosque (1711 Third Avenue) will hold four prayer sessions at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 10:00 a.m. Concurrently, ICCNY’s 72nd Street mosque, located at 1 Riverside Drive will host two additional services at 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. to provide more options for worshippers.

Islamic Center of New York City (ICNYC)

The Islamic Center of New York City invites the community to come together for Eid prayers under the iconic Arch in Washington Square Park, starting at 8:00 a.m. Be sure to dress to impress — this event, sometimes called the “Muslim Met Gala” — is always a colorful affair! Following the prayer, all are invited to attend a festive Eid brunch at the Center’s new space at 350 6th Avenue. RSVPs are required for both the prayer and brunch due to space limitations.

Islamic Center of Long Island (ICLI)

The Islamic Center of Long Island will hold outdoor Eid prayers at the Mitchel Athletic Complex, located at 1 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (across from the Cradle of Aviation Museum), with prayer times at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and are asked to bring their own prayer rugs.

Festive fun for families

Eid Potluck & Dabke at the Brooklyn Bridge Park

Enjoy a vibrant evening of community, delicious shared dishes, and traditional Dabke dancing on Brooklyn Bridge Park’s grassy lawn. Bring your favorite food to contribute to the potluck, wear comfortable shoes, and get ready to dance, connect, and soak in the festive atmosphere with friends and family.

  • Location: Brooklyn Bridge Park (on the large grassy area)

Eid Picnic at Astoria Park

Malikah warmly invites the community to their Annual Eid al-Adha picnic at Astoria Park in Queens. This family-friendly event will feature games, music, and treats. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, snacks, and join in the joy of togetherness. RSVPs are required to access the exact location and receive event updates.

Eid Celebration at Long Island Children’s Museum

Unleash your child’s creativity and learn how to make Whirling Dervish dolls — then sit back and enjoy a mesmerizing live performance inspired by the Turkish Sufi tradition. A magical blend of play and culture for the whole family.

Community Eid Luncheon at Manhattan

The Islamic Center of New York City (ICNYC) warmly invites the community to its Eid al-Adha Luncheon. This festive gathering will feature performances by talented community members, including poetry and storytelling, to celebrate the joyous occasion. Guests are encouraged to wear their finest Eid attire and may optionally bring a dessert to share. RSVP is required.

Eid Celebration at Wilmore Park, Little Falls, New Jersey

Hosted by the Little Falls Muslim Committee, this joyful event promises an afternoon of delicious food, fun activities for all ages, and a chance to support local small businesses. Food and ice cream trucks will be onsite and available for purchase, while a range of free activities will keep the whole family entertained.

  • Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025 (Raindate: Sunday, June 8, 2025)
  • Time: 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Wilmore Road Park in Little Falls, NJ
  • No ticket required. 

Eid Laser Tag & Turkish Lunch at Edgewater, New Jersey

Gear up for an action-packed Eid! Blast through laser tag games, then relax and refuel with a flavorful Turkish lunch — all while supporting ICPC Youth (20% of proceeds go to them!). Attendance is limited to 28 spots. RSVP at: [email protected]

Celebrate into the night

The Eid Mehfil – NYC’s Most Stylish Eid Gathering

Echoes of Reverence – Sufi Celebration at Barzakh Café

Barzakh Café will host Echoes of Reverence, an intimate Eid al-Adha Sufi celebration featuring Falsa. Drawing on South Asian devotional traditions and enriched by global improvisation, Falsa offers a transcendent musical experience rooted in centuries-old Sufi poetry and Qawwali lineage. Their ensemble — featuring vocals, harmonium, violin, tabla, bass, and drums — invites deep listening and spiritual reflection. Seating is limited; early RSVP is strongly recommended.

Art Exhibition Opening: Queer Mubarak

Queer Mubarak is a vibrant group exhibition honoring both Eid and Pride Month through the work of a dynamic roster of visual artists. Held at Gül Gallery in the Lower East Side, the show invites visitors to explore compelling artwork and engage with a thriving queer creative community. The public is welcome to attend the opening night for an evening of connection and celebration.
